Boring days

(Thursday,October 23,2003) Sorry! I haven't wrote for ages!!! I was too busy with my school work. Life is back to normal! Work, work, work, and more work!!!!!!! What can I say? There is only one word to describe the life. Down-right boring! The most exciting thing that is going to happen is the field trip that all the grade 8 classes are going to tomorrow. The Toronto Symohony Orchestra. Even that doesn't cheer me up. I will have to sit there for hours! Last year, when I went there, I nearly fell asleep. Oh well, this is life. Even though it is boring I will be going anyways. Let me just hope that this will not be as boring as I think this is going to be.

Return to school

I am nervous and excitied at the same time. I am returning to school tomorrow! I never knew that my summer holiday would end so soon after what seemed like years of school. Questions of school run through my head like a tidal-wave for days, now. They could be as original as "Would my homeroom teacher be a generous one?" Or as mind-exploding as "Would I be a trouble-maker in her class?" I guess only time would tell.

My Visit Continues

Sorry that I forgot to mention my further visits in China. After the visits that I had mentioned, I went to Beijing then Shen Zhen. In Beijing, I went to seven points of interests. They were Tien An Men, Gu Gong(Know as The Palace Museum), Yi He Yuan(Known as The Summer Palace),13 Ling(It's a graveyard for thirteen Kings), Zong Yi Yen Jiu Yuan(Largest Chinese Medicine Research Centre), 9 Long Gong(A place designed for a myth that talks about dragons living in a palace under the sea), and Zhang Zhen(Known as the Great Wall). I had the most fun in Beijing because I saw all of Beijing's points of interests, went into the buildings and climbed the Great Wall. In Shen Zhen, I stayed in my hotel and did my homework, daily. Then I would play cards with my grandma. Basically, that is what happened in Shen Zhen everyday.

My Return

I am back from China, now. I am glad that I was able to see my whole family before the school starts again. It is unbelievably quiet these days. In China, it was noisy everyday. Now, it is peaceful and serene. I was more cheerful in China than in Canada because there were more family members there(China)than here(Canada).

The War Between Israels and Palestinians Continues

I was just reading on "The Star" right now about a 4-year old Palestinian boy who got killed and two Palestinian young girls who was injured by a machine gun used by a Israel soldier. I feel really bad about it because they were innocent and yet they received their country's consequence for attacking the Israels. As for the Israel soldier who had done this, some Israel soldiers beat him up briefly for shooting the Paletinian children mistakenly/accidently.

Shocking News

I read on "The Star" that Qusay and Uday passed away in a fierce gun battle. I felt sorry for them and Saddam Hussein when I heard this, although some people did not like them very much. Qusay was about to be the president of Iraq, since his father was getting old. Unfortunately, before he even had a chance to be the president, he and his brother, Uday, went west. Also, I felt heartbroken for Saddam Hussein because he had raised his sons all these years and they, Qusay and Uday, all passed away in a gun battle (especially when one of them was bound to be the president of Iraq).

My Visits

So far, I had been to Shanghai, Zhen Jiang, and Nan Jing. In Zhen Jiang, the most exciting place I have ever been to was Jing San Si (A point of interest). In Nan Jing, the most exciting thing that I ever done was visit my grandpa and great grandma. I was very delighted that my great-grandma's health condition was better than before. In Shanghai, the most exciting thing that I ever done was to eat, sleep, and watch TV. It was very boring in Shanghai and still is. That is all for now! See ya!

The Homeless

After around twenty hours of suffering in a stinky airplane doing absolutely nothing, I finally arrived in Shanghai! I felt really relieved when I got off the plane. Today, I saw a homeless man sleeping on the streets. He was wearing dirty, old clothes with faded blue stripes. He only had one thin blanket with him. Yet my questions for today still remain. Where were his parents? Did he have a wife, son, or daughter? Why did he sleep outside? Is it because he got kicked out of his house or he did not have enough money to buy one? I wish that China, including Shanghai, will build a homeless shelter like Canada. That way, all the homeless will be able to live in a warm and safe place.

Shopping and Dinner

Sorry that I did not write an entry yesterday. I was too busy. I spent around six hours shopping with my mother for clothes to wear in China! We walked non-stop! After that, one of our friends invited us for dinner. We ate and talked until it was getting late(by the time they thought was late, it was already almost eleven o'clock!)

The New Planet

On the news, I found out that a "Methuselah" planet, twice as old and 25 times farther away than any of the 110 planets, was found in our Milky Way galaxy. This discovery meant that planets were formed billions of years earlier than predicted. Astronomers believes that Methuselah is a cold and gigantic ball made of gas and really not likely to have biotic things on it now because of violent times in its past. Methuselah is 5,600 light years away (a light year is the distance light travels in a year). It is trapped in orbit around a dying white dwarf and a whirling pulsar, a star that addresses out beams of radio waves that flick around.

Getting My Visa

Today was a long and boring day. I had to go to downtown to get my visa. I am going to China, you see, because my great-grandma could not sit nor stand up and was expected to pass away anyday. So, my mom decided to go to China see and take care of her. My mom and I are leaving for China next Monday and will be coming back on August 27th. It will be 44 days in the hot, humid China, but I feel up to the challenge!

This is my first entry

So this is just a test. I like to write in my journal. So welcome!
